I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
